How far in advance should a consultant be booked?

The EARLIER the better! The earlier your consultant is hired, the sooner she can get started saving you $$$. You should start shopping for a consultant after you choose your wedding day. Jennifer Byrd Events offers a discount for weddings booked nine months to a year in advance and a complimentary consultation. You also have to think of the consultant, if they are popular it maybe difficult to get a specific wedding day and/or weekend available. It would also be to your and your consultants advantage before your first consultation to have an approximate budget, attendants (bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc), and rough guest count. If you are having trouble coming up with any of these figures your consultant should be glad to help. Most consultants will have helpful checklists and budget forms to get you started.
